Blackburn 2-0 up and winning 4-2 on aggregate. I was worried this competition would be too much for the small squad but since the first game, they haven't lost a match in the League.

Spurs a 5th seed? Are they not one of the favourites with the bookies?

eh, the seeding isnt decided on how well the bookies think you will do.

Eh, yes but how many times is a bottom seed so high up the betting. How many times does a bottom seed win the tournament?

You dont see them offering 50/1 on AC Milan for the CL do you?

So what are u saying, that Spurs should be higher up the seeding ranks?

For anyone who missed it here's Martins' brilliant second goal for Newcastle

I haven't seen any of the other goals but that surely has to be the most spectacular strike of the night! His first goal wasn't bad either.

Great 2-0 win for Blackburn and another fine display to make sure there's more European football at Ewood this season. Hopefully the team can carry that form through to the Sunday game against Wigan.

Seeding is based on European performanaces over the last number of years.

I think it is about ten since Spurs even qualified for Europe hence they will have a woeful seeding.

i thought it was a combination of the club and country coefficients and that Spurs would be seeded higher purely by virtue of being english.

    obviously not...

You're team ranking is made up of your own coefficient plus 33% of your country coefficient. Spurs got 33% of England's coefficient. Even if it was Accrington Stanley in the UEFA cup they'd have got the same seeding as Spurs.

Can teams from the same country be drawn against each other?

    X

I don't think they can in the group phase anyway

    7 years.

    No.

Draw next Tuesday. From a competitive point of view I'd like Leverkusen, Celta Vigo, Slovan Liberec, and Austria Wien. From a partying point of view, I'd like Ajax (away), Rangers (home), Espanyol (away), and Hapoel Tel-Aviv (home).
