So Cavan are again looking for a new manager!!(at least the county board are getting plenty of interviewing experience :D )

there are currently 3 people in the running.

Donal Keogan - Member of the Denn Club and former county player for cavan, had two years managing the County Minor team and no club management experience. His backroom team is rumoured to include former Armagh assistant-manager, Paul Grimley and a hero in cavan Martin McHugh.

Terry Hyland - Member of the Lacken Club . Was recently a selector with Val Andrew's in louth and has experience managing a number of club's.

Damien Cassidy - Former Derry player and the ex manager of Bellaghy was second in command to former manager Martin McElkennon.

Whoever take's over is taking over a team at a low point. losing to Waterford in the last match of the league to miss out on promotion, bet by Down in the Prelimary Round of the Ulster championship, beat by Kildare in the first round of the qualifiers and by Louth in the Tommy Murphy cup!!

Any opinions on who would be the best man for the job????

I think the Cavan county board should look into acquiring the services of Mick O Dwyer.....but unfortunately for Cavan this may be a missed opportunity as Micko lives down in Kerry...a hell of a drive.

I think he would have been perfect for the job.Other managers would be Sean Boylan but I think he's delving in the hurling scene now?

From the list of people in the running I would appoint Donal Keogan who has knowledge of the minor team who will come up and play for Cavan. So he would be good for managing Cavan whilst developing players from the minors and building a good senior team for the future.

The best man for the job will be the man who gets rid of the dead wood and starts selecting players who will actually play for the jersey and not themselves. I think everyone from Cavan knows what I'm on about...

Donal Keogan is the new Cavan manager.
