Does anybody know if this is on the 8th of October? Can't find any info on it anywhere and as it looks like I'm Dublin that weekend, I was thinking of possibly staying on for another day and plan it in.

Is this an actual show or a sale/show where they prefer you not to 'show' ??

It's supposed to be a 'sale' held at the City West hotel, there is usually a good turnout of 'vendors' and public!, but generally there is very little selling going on on the day. Cars will be on full 'show' for everyone, but can't be driven there and then. People view it as a show more than anything else. Also the staff controlling the thing are known to be a bit short fused with people turning up with their classic, parking it in the parking lot and putting up a for sale sign there. This was something that happened when at earlier shows there was no exhibiting room anymore on the designated lot, and people just put the sign up in the parking area. Sometimes more interesting cars for sale could be spotted outside in the general parking area... :D This was obviously frowned upon by the people that had paid to display their car in the designated area.

So there's a bit of controversy about the whole thing, where some people say it's a rip off and others say it's a nice opportunity to show their car, possibly sell it, and make it a nice day out... As I happen to be in Dublin that day with a few cars, I will most likely be attending.

I'm not sure, but does the sticky at the top of the page about mcd concern the show at city west. Last year, or was it this year, there was a bit of an argument/debate about it. The sticky could concern something completly different, actually probably does seeing as this thread is still up.;)

don't think its organised by "those who must not be named", so I guess not. We can complain about it this year so :D
