I think tipmike might have feared 910s by what he said in the OP and what was said in the chatbox. (i could be wrong, and he could just be an asshole!)

There is no getting away from this as played Mike. Should of been an insta CRAI. The odds of him having the 910s were soooo low that you should jam every time here.

Why would you want to get away from this? you have (basically) the nuts, obviously one of them had a set or 2 pair, so there were going to be re-draws against you, but getting your money in ahead is all you can hope for.

Are you honestly saying you thought you were behind on that flop?
And your speech play wasn't acting?
Man we've just found the rockiest rock this side of the Rockies!!

Btw, most people who are duped by sly speech play (in this case almost duped) would tend to be assholeish about it to you afterwards.

so you thought about folding this hey?

the only way that I might consider folding this is if I'm in a Hells Angels bar and playing with 8 hairy bikers with prison tatts and facial knife scars

and then only if I'm dealing

First off the guy who won the pot had played kings and aces so bad it was untrue, in the prev ten hands. On both those hands hands it was so obvious he was behind it was untrue ,and he went broke on both with a buy in each time.
I didnt think I was behind, as in all fairness to flop a straight flush is something I cant be worried about.

I wouldnt consider it such a bad beat, somebody was going to have outs to fill up, so would have to be 3 to 1 or so, as one had to have a set and I was thinking if that was the case, then other two had to conflict and therefore it limits the outs of the set hand
As for why I didnt crai, i fked it up in a nutshell, I was playing plo at the same time and I misclicked when going from one table to another and the point of the thread was not a sympathy attaining one.
As for the speech play/acting, which was perceived. As you will see at that point there was a raise, call reraise ,reraise before it got back to me, so with it all going in the middle I was moving in anyway, so with the stacks in the middle I think any attempt to speech it would have been late in the day.

So after outlining the defence there, considering the stakes involved, where there is goodish money to be made playing it abc, is the set always going to call or are they just bound to call

Its sounds as if you don't want the set the call ??

ok ok I take the point, when I say I thought about folding it less that and more the fact that the hand had an impending sense of doom. I havent taken enough of suckouts yet to not want to get my money in that far ahead! Plus the riducle since heaped about me has been strangely therapeutic

If you have an impending sense of doom about how a hand may or may not turn out, especially if you flop the nuts (albeit nuts at the time) maybe you shouldn't be playing.

I always get those, but I find a positive menal attitude really does not help alot

damn i forgot I should have taken offence, lost the plot ala some other threads and start one of those poor me threads, with swords drawn. I dont give a toss for bad beats, two outers and one outers now thats a bb!
But the mental attitude thing is spot on one of these days I will be able to will FT to do as I say!

You're quite correct of course RT.

I was honestly thinking of this over lunch, and reckoning my post was wrong!

Because the set has the correct odds to call and therefore would be making a mistake if he didn't call, then therefore we are happy if he folds?

Its far better for us to play this 3ways against no set, than 4 ways against a set.

Its moot I guess as the set will rarely if ever fold.

This thread has already taken up too much space but I think AJ and RT have hit it on the head. I think that previous thread hits the nail on the head. When it got to the point where there was four in the pot then it had to mean min of one set and therefore he was going to call. Do you want him to call, taking it down there and then doesnt seem that bad to me, though I would think thats where my cash game is weak, ie making big enough pots when I have the nuts and maximising it. My op point really was more can you ever make that guy fold, I dont think so, at that or at least any of the lower stakes I play. Maybe with deeper cash stacks you could, I wouldnt be able to say.
