WMV files help?

Hey I was wondering if anyone could help me with this. I can't play WMV files on Windows Media Player, i read that i might have to download a later version player so I downloaded WMP11 but they still won't play, it keeps saying something about DMR and licenses? Any ideas?

The files are copy-protected. You won't be able to play them, unless you pay the fee to whomever holds the copyright.
