Got my new shiny rig from Ankermann today.
    Connected up to lcd,power ect.
Ran the Windows xp home installation disk. Came to "agree with lience" part and I realised I forgot to connect the mouse. Connect the mouse and nothing. No sign of pointer or any movement. Switched mouse and same thing. Switched off power and back on again with mouse connected. Straight onto this screen again and still no response.

    Any help appreciated.

Is Windows pre-installed or are you starting from scratch with a blank drive?
Are you sure it doesn't say "Strike any key to agree" or "Press F8 to agree"?
Did you try using the keyboard (arrows, tab key, etc) to highlight agree and press return?
I know with Dell pc's the mouse isn't available for the first couple of screens during setup, only the keyboard.

Started with ablank drive. The keyboard is working fine.
At the lience prompt I have to click the I agree option to beginn the installation. I need the mouse to do this. The harddrive has just been formatted before this prompt.

is it a standard windows install disk or is it a customised version of windows that is provided by ankermann, cause if its a standard windows disk then the initial setup is done using keyboard only, e.g. F8 to agree to license, etc

its a customised version (OEM)from my last computer.

what brand of computer was it originally installed on, one of the reasons it may not be working is because the windows cd is detecting that you are attempting to install the windows on a different brand pc. have encountered this with dell and hp/compaq cds.
