AStra 1 query

    Hi Folks,
    Put up my 60cm dish last night and working great, got astra satellite in 30seconds and lined it up in 10 mins with help of someone on ground, must admit it was easy enough remembering all that was said here and all the mistakes people made, got 70% signal and 85% quality with bit less for eurobird. Also picking up some eurosat (sounds like this anyways) that only has skyhd demo on it and some elvis channels.
    My question is signal is showing from astra 1 but when i scan, its all bbcs and itvs etc come up. I know this has been asked before but can't find the answer, am I getting astra 1 or just numbers are same and box thinks it is only?
    Also, do I just add transponders from lyngsat and it will pick up any channels not already listed after scanning?

    Compared picture to my rebeamer bbc2 last night and how did i ever watch it in the first place!!

    You are on Astra 2/Eurobird (28.2/28.5 E) if your getting BBCs ITVs, not Astra 1 (19.2E)
    Its just conincidental that some parameters (SR, FEC, Polarisation) and frequencies are the same, (or almost the same in the case of frequency) on both satellites for some of the transponders. Your better off deleting them and rescanning with the correct satellite selected. Put ALL transponders for 28.2/28.5 under Astra 2 on your transponder list, don't regard Eurobird (28.5) as a seperate satellite

    The lidl boxes, in the past, did not have all tranponders preprogrammed, so putting in the missing ones for the satellite your on and rescanning will get them.

    In another thread you said you installed the aerial yourself in the attic.
    If you got an experienced aerial installer to do it, and put it on the chimney, I'd say your 'rebeamer' picture would be a whole lot better.

    reason i didn't get experienced installer is that all neighbours paid 350-400 whereas equipment from wholesaler came to under 50 and new house means no money! IN fairness the 4 irish are perfect and 4 british are fairly ok but nothing compared to digital.
    I deleted astra 1but will try again and thanks for idea of utting transponder under astra 2, didn't think of this! Thanks Antenna
