I ordered myself a Dell XPS m1210 there on sunday...you can configure them to be pretty powerful if you have the spare change to do it, also its a nice 12.1" widescreen. Quite thick though.

I read a review a few months back about a Sony laptop. Can't remember the model, but the reviewer was blown away by the size of it and the battery life.

The magazine was Personal Computer World. Might be worth looking at their website to see if they have the details.

I'm interested in getting small/powerful one too. Its tough to find them for a decent price. I hate these widescreens :(

Like recommended above you could try the XPS M1210 from Dell or indeed their new Latitude 420 which is also 12" screen size, also as mentioned above there is the Sony TX/SX Range of laptops which are 10.6" and 13.3" screen sizes and which might I add look fu%$in' fantastic! Powerful little machines too but very very pricey.....Shop around on Dell and laptopsdirect.ie(for prices only! their service is a bit lacking!) and see what you fancy.

The Philips X5x series is also pretty good. 12" screen, quite small and light. Or, if you wanna be girly about it, "cute" :D
