Wanna book flight to Thailand, and return flight with changeable date -- possible?

    Hey folks,

I'm planning on going to Thailand around the 1st June 2007, but I don't know how long I'll be able to stay for because of money, etc. Ideally I'd be able to stay for June, July, and August, and come back on the 1st September, but I was thinking that instead of booking those flights, I would just get the flight over, and have some sort of transient return ticket, so that I'd have the booking done already, but I just had to pick a date and tell the airline maybe a week in advance when I wanna come home.

    Is this possible?

It would mean that I could book the flight now (or whenever I get the rest of the funds), so that I can't back out of it :D, and then spend from now until then saving spending money and for vaccinations, etc.

    Good idea?

Where would I be able to book such a ticket?

    Thanks!

Trailfinders or Club Travel should be able to sort you out. They both have a lot of staff used to dealing with long haul so they should be able to answer your question and give you an idea of price.

    Thanks for that :)

Anyone else got some specific information? Is there info on this on any websites?

You won't find what you're looking for on a website methinks. Any degree of flexibility usually requires interaction with a human! :D

Most travel agents actually should be able to get you an open return ticket.
But you will have to talk to them.
It's possible to get one online, but I wouldnt advise you to try unless you know what you are doing and you clearly dont :D

    Have a read of this

Incidently try ebookers in Dublin aswell.Their number is on the site www.ebookers.ie.
