    Hi

I have only recently gotten interested in photography and decided to go a workshop at Dublin zoo at the weekend. Here are some of the pics that I took. Tell me what you think.

Go easy....I am only new at this..:o

Good for you! Thanks for sharing your pictures and indeed welcome to the forum. Really nice pictures there, nice crop on the tiger, keep up the good work. What camera you using? Will add you to my flickr contacts.

Thanks for the nice comments. I am using a Fujifilm S5600. Its not a full SLR but I think it will be OK to learn on until I can afford a proper camera!

Indeed it will, have a point and shoot myself. Get an eye for photography first before splashing out on something more expensive.

That owl is hilarious, much funnier than the 'O RLY' owl

    Hi Ruu,

Just looked up your section on Flickr. Loved your pics. What camera have you got? I recogised some of the shots from Heidelberg. Its a lovely town. I have been there a few times with work.

Yep I was in a few cities in Germany. Heidelberg had to be my favourite, I only wish I had stayed longer. The scenery is breathtaking, loved it. I have a Fujifilm A340 (4.1mp) and using it best I can. :) Soon to get a Nikon D50 from eBay when I gather up some cash.

I liked them too - they are both fine pictures, good work. The owl is a great capture and the tiger is perfectly framed, the processing on both is spot on imo.

Haha, great photos. I hope you don't mind but it had to be done!

The owl defo wins but as mentioned before, the capture of the tiger is perfect.

Thanks for all your comments. I didn't expect such positive comments on my 1st attempt!

When I zoom in on the tiger shot I am not 100% happy with the quality. The shot was taken behind glass at full optical zoom (10x) or perhaps its just my 5.1 megapixel isn't quite up to the job.

With the owl shot I guess I was just lucky to get it. I was impressed with the background blur too.

Anyway, I will try to post some more pics when I get a chance.

    Thanks again.
