Had major problems with this the last couple of months only on my laptop for some reason...

I can recieve and forward mail but can't send one when I compose an email.

I've deleted every account, run the auto-configuration tool and even checked the manual configurations settings.

I Keep getting a message saying:

"The message could not be sent.

You do not have any accounts configured for sending e-mail. Please verify your account information"

Does anybody has a solution? I use my laptop alot for work and really need to get it working!

Make sure your in and out servers are set to:
    pop.gmail.com
    smtp.gmail.com
And in advanced settings that the port numbers are 995 for pop3 and 465 for smtp

What internet provider do you have?

Change the smtp.gmail.com to mail2.eircom.net and see does that work....

I think your Outgoing server name should be the same as whatever your Internet providers outgoing one is. Not sure if its the same for gmail.

Kind of obvious I know but...have you followed these instructions or used the auto configuration the google provide?

Have you logged into your Gmail account and checked if POP is enabled on the account?

    Lol @ ^^^^^

    Wouldn't use anything but Outlook!

Yes run the auto-configure tool and checked it manually aswell.

I'm fairly literate at computers (studied them for 3 years) but this is just wrecking my head...
