I don't think it's on for another month or so. Tickets are meant to be tough to get.

Socs Ball tickets will go on sale the week after Clubs & Socs Days (to give ya a chance to join a society or club).

I think it's on November 9th but I'm not sure of the exact date.

I've been to five balls and every one of them was brilliant!

Nope, Burlington Hotel in D4. Buses to and from are usually provided as part of the ticket cost.

its the best night in DCU by far. Tickets are hard to get, but worth sooooo worth it!!! When you join a club and or soc you can apply for them from the club and or soc. however, a small number go on sale from the hub in a couple of weeks or so. If you are gonna buy from the hub, I WOULD STRONGLY ADVISE GETTING THERE ON THE MORNING OF SALE BEFORE 7 O'CLOCK. they are that sought after!

Last year was my first time at the C&S Ball and I must say it was definitly one of the best nights of the year. Not many first years go but tbh I'd say ignore that and just get a group of you going, its well worth it.

I'm not sure about this year but in previous years, each society were offered the chance to pre-purchase a block of tickets, usually about 20. Sometimes clubs are offered the same choice. Whatever tickets aren't pre-sold go on sale to the rest of the college. There are usually about 1,000 tickets in total.

If/When you join societies on C&S day, ask them then about tickets and let them know you're interested in buying one/some from them. They should be able to help you.

Keep an eye on life.dcu.ie, someone might put some information up there soon about the ball.

Edit: It's definitely on 20th November in the Burlo, everything else is still up in the air.

Get friendly with the Students union, or be real nice to committee people in clubs or societies, as they're usually allocated 20+ tickets each...

Good luck, see ye there

The SU President usually gets two tickets (ie personal and a partner), no-one else in the SU does unless they queue up like everyone else.

As for clubs and socs, they're usually allocated 20 tickets to sell to their members. It's not for committee members only and if you find that happening, let the ball organisers know so they can sit on them for it.

I'd like to go, it had the potential last year to be brilliant!

I know a few of the committee organizing it this year and they seem to be really busy, so I take that as a good sign.

Dunno if I can afford another pretty dress though...

is it like a debs? like wud u have to buy a dress like a debs dress? or wud every1 just turn up in skirts? or is it like really really formal

It's less formal than a debs, as in you dont *have* to wear a ball gown, though it is black tie and pretty dress. Check out the pics. http://www.redbrick.dcu.ie/~jesjes/SocsBallIceSkating/ they're my own ones, there are ones on life.dcu.ie and other places too.

Some ppl get away with their Debs dresses, others cant cuz they're too fluffy!
