    Near the turn for Drumdowney!

The traffic was nearly as far back as the Bellview junction. The other thing was the sheer volume of trucks - hundreds of them.

Even at 10 it was still back as far as the new roundabout. Is it usually that bad on that side of town, or was it a once off?

Was there a bridge lift perhaps?

Rarely is it out as far as the Bellview junction but if it is turn left at the junction , take the next right and follow the back road and you will come out on the city side of Ferrybank church. Alternatively there's a left turn after Bellview junction which will bring you down past Ellicksons and will meet the same back road I mentioned above.

Might have been traffic off the boat for the World Ploughing Championships, on up in Tullow in Carlow today. :)

Its the exact same from about 9-10AM in the morning coming from Tramore to the Balindud roundabout.

Sorry to say but I'm surprised you've never seen the traffic in Ferrybank. It can be worse, it's been as far back as the Rhu Glenn at times it usually around this time of year it happens. I think the roundabout at the train station is part of the problem as is the traffic lights at the city side of the bridge as well...

Roll on the bypass I saw

The bridge is the problem, its all very well putting a roundabout at one end most of the time but the lights at the other kill the point at rush hour. They should have someone on points duty from about 7.30 - 9.30

Still in 3 years time the pix above will be nothing more than a sepia-toned memory - please!

Ridiculous. Just shows how the bypass of Waterford was needed 15 years ago!!

To avoid all that traffic just head through slieverue village and take the right just before the diamond hill guest house and keep heading stright, when you come to voulgers apple orchard take a left then when you come to a roundabout at the golf course take a right and ull end up at the roudabout in sallypark, this saves a lot of time and you get to see the new bypass been built every morning on the way to work

A bit off topic but, are you allowed take pictures on mobile phones while driving these days?

But you said the traffic was coming into Waterford from Ross, that'd be the right direction to get to the Dublin/Kilkenny road, would it not?

Yes.. but if they were headed to Carlow from New Ross/Wexford it would be quicker to go via Borris or Graignamanagh (Spelling)

Via Enniscorthy/Bunclody is the best way to go

A pretty good pic from a mobile phone camera, wouldnt you say. I have a 2 million pix camera on my phone and it would not give of pictures as good as quality of those two.

Its very often like that, often been in 2hr+ long delays getting into wexford in a car. Thankfully, its nothing on the bike, just a straight filter through..
