I am going to dubai in 3 weeks and am lookin to go to the skyview bar.I have heard that if you are not staying there you have to "reserve" a time or "book" a slot to be able to have drinks in the bar.

    Is this true?

And if so how do I go out about doing it?

    Many thanks...

When you get there, ring them asap, they'll ask what hotel you're staying in.

Just back from Maldives and Dubai :( You do have to book now and reserve "afternoon tea" which costs quite a bit as far as I remember.

Personally we didn't bother. The hotel gates have security and because there is a bridge between the gates and the hotel it's not like you can just stroll in for a nose!

Pop into Jumeria Beach instead and have a few cocktails while looking up at it or go to Wild Wadi waterpark next door and get on the really tall slide for a good nosey!

Enjoy yourself, it was 40C when we were there - really enjoyed ourselves.

Myself and the missus had afternoon tea there a couple of months back. You have to pre book it. We did it from the website. You also must wear trousers, shoes and a shirt. Cost about 65 euro each i think. Bit of a waste really but it's worth doing once I reckon, just to see the place. It also has a nice view of the palms if it is a clear day.
If you are staying in the Jumeirah Beach hotel or the Jumeirah Median then you can go over to the Burj for a look round for free, as they are owned by the same group.
    have fun
