Hanging Ikea mirrors

    Hi all,

I've bought two mirrors from Ikea, but haven't hung them yet. From what I can see, they give you picture hook like things which you attach to the back of the mirror. How do you attach them to the wall, though? Do you have to hammer in your own nails, or is there some trick I don't know about?

Bear in mind, I'm a complete beginner at DIY! Cheers :).

    Faith,

Go to any DIY store and show then the hanger and tell them what you want to do. They will fix you up with the proper gear. Also, you might need a hammer. :D Or failing that a drill with a masonry bit and some rawl plugs.

    Hi Faith,

This could be completely wrong but I'm just wondering if they might be similar to mirrors I got in homebase earlier in the year. My fittings were basically little plastic fittings that were screwed into the wall first and then I just slipped the mirror into the fittings afterwards. The fittings are hard to describe, but they were basically a flat plastic fitting with a little 'lip' coming out on one side where the mirror slotted in.

I was a complete novice at this diy until earlier in the year, but you get better as time goes on......trust me.
