Yet antother betfair upgrade. They always do them in the mornings (why?) and they always go over time. Looks like I won't get my lays on now

Why can't they do the upgrade in the middle of the night?
Please be aware the planned upgrade has run over time. We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause and to assure you that we are doing our best to resolve this issue as soon as possible

Pain in the ars* alright. They must make more money (poker etc)during the night to justify knocking it off in the morning time.It makes a complete mess of the whole days betting/trading for us horse racing folks.

Yep. I missed getting all of my system lays on, which would have made a small profit. It's working now, but the 'my markets' tab is still messed up, as is my P&L

Do you lads not have a contingency plan in place to use another exchange?

I would have though if you were confident of making money this would be the first thing you'd do.

I have a betdaq account, but most of my funds are in betfair. I have a small amount in betdaq for when I spot a good value back, but not enough to cover the liabilitys on all my system lays. I don't feel that I should leave money sitting there in case betfair goes down, as it could be put to good use elsewhere.

While I do like to shop around for prices when backing, it makes more sense to do all my lays through betfair. It keeps the commission down, and I can easily import them into the spreadsheets at the end of the day. It is a pain in the ass when it goes down, but in the broad scheme of things, missing one day does not make a huge difference.

That happened to me about 3 weeks ago.I emailed them and they sent me back instructions of how to sort it out but it righted itself next day (I couldn't make head nor tail of the instructions:o )

I suspect that they do them in the mornings because Australia, by the looks of recent betting trends, has become their biggest new market.

We estimate that the site will not be available again before 1pm

 Always the same. Time to use betdaq or the bookies methinks. The Grade 1 races in Fairyhouse are on early enough.
