Wireless network issue

I recently the Eircom Homestarter Plus kit, with the wireless Netopia router. I have managed to get one laptop working fine, but I am running to some difficulty with the other.
It's a Sony Vaio, and it has a Cisco Systems Aironet 802.11a/b/g Wireless Adaptor that I out into it. The Aironet adaptor is picking up the wireless signal from the Netopia, and it has connected (using WEP security key), but for whatever reason I can't connect with to the web with Firefox. It gives me the 'Unable to connect to server' message. I can somewhat connect with IE. For example, it will open the page www.hotmail.com, but it won't let me log on. It won't open www.gmail.com at all. I have disabled all Firewall settings, and it's still the same.

    Any ideas?

Got it sorted. It was Norton Internet Security center causing the problem. :)
