A hand from the Fitz last night...

Bought into the Fitz game at about 11:30 last night for €80. Worked it up to about €145 and was moved to the table downstairs when this hand took place. Think the winner actually reads Boards, but I'm not sure. Either way...

I'm dealt 5Td in late position. I limp in and plan to fold to any reraise. Villian limps in the BB.

Flop comes 234r with one diamond. I'm a bit iffy on the flop betting but the villian bet 6, one caller to my right raises to 12, I call with my up and down straight draw. Villian calls.

Turn comes 6d giving me a straight to 6 and four to a flush. Villian bets ~20, guy to my right raises to ~40, I call and villian pushes. After an age, the guy to my right folds.

Haven't got much of a read on the BB as I haven't seen him showdown many hands but he seems tightish however because he limped on the BB it did cross my mind he held 57 for the higher straight. I have about €95 left at this point and he has me covered.

Eventually, I call and flip my cards... he flips his... river is Jh which doesn't affect either of us and gives him the pot and busts me for the night.

My questions here are was the call correct? Some of the players on the table thought my hand an insta-push, others didn't seem so sure. I guess I'm just trying to figure out if I had the odds to push the final €95 into a pot of about €235 with a 6 high straight, which was the second nuts when I pushed (and was at the end of the hand) as well as a flush draw. I knew if I hit my flush I had him beat but I just couldn't credit him for having 57.

Just one of the lessons of poker?

95% of the time you'll be freerolling for the entire pot here. You just got unlucky.

here's another one; buy in for at least €200 in a 1/2 game

you probably should fold 5t sitting so shallow here pre flop

now that you have played it and hit your dream board all the money is rightly going in
as was mentioned you will be freerolling a lot here and in some cases (rare granted) your oponent will be drawing dead

    Push.

And don't play 5T preflop with that stack.

Has to be a push. By the way the 1-2 game last saturday week in the Fitz had plenty of people buying in for €50-€100. Thought it was very strange myself.
