Where to play on-line?

Hi, i'm new on here but have been reading with interest the post for quite a while. What I was wondering mainly is where is the best place to play on-line? I'm sure you all have your own opions and different sites suit different players.

I've been playing on-line for the past 6 months, started on Betfair (more of a horse man than poker player) and held my own there in terms of poker but found the game types a bit limited. Moved onto Paddy Power, which I seem to think is ok with plenty of different game types. But while there site was down yesterday I decided to spread my wings to one of the big name sites and signed up with Full-tilt. Played a few STT's last night but found the whole thing to be quite slow and "clumpy" (not sure exactly what this means but i think/hope you'll get my drift)! Also the game type quite limited. Maybe I just need to give it more time.

I'm only a small stakes player $5 STT's are as much as I stretch to as i don't really have the bankroll for the cash games, but have been holding my own, only every deposited €40 to my Paddy Power account and I'm currently on €190 from poker, not much I know, but it keeps me entertained.

Any reccomendations for a site i should try? Thanks in advance.

If you are looking for something very different you could try vegasbabypoker.com where there are very cheap qualifiers to big live events, starting from as little as 50c I think (you have to go up several rungs on a ladder system before you land the big prize).

Pokerstars has, in my opinion, the best software, and is one of the 2 biggest sites there is in terms of players, so always plenty of choice of what to play.

After moving from paddypower to pokerstars i couldnt get my head around the pokerstars table, cant put my finger on it, but the paddypower table is easy on the eye and i find the pokerstars table lacking in picture quality if you know what i mean. Have been noticing that paddypowers STT's for €50+ dont seem to have many starting and looks like youd have to wait around a while for a table to start especially earlier in the day. The €10 MTT have games starting every minute or so which im currently at but i intend to eventually move up to €50 games if things keep going well and may be forced to go to either pokerstars or party poker. Im going to sign up to one of those free $75 affiliate scheme with party poker where you dont need to make a deposit or give credit card details, free money so why not. (is this a gimmick or is there a catch?)

Anyway im sure most of the responses will be everyone to their own and such.

p.s the only annoying thing about Paddy power is they raise, check, fold buttons move about sometimes and instead of checking you could call a big bet by mistake, that can be annoying. Youll have to play it to understand what i mean.

I'm with 5starpool all the way here. Pokerstars, has imo the best software, and is great for game selection. You can play $3 speed STT(blinds every 5 mins, which might suit your BR. Or $5 STTs (blinds every 10 mins). And you can often play big MTTs for $3.

Also they have micro limits that might interest you if you are keen to step into cash games.

They also have a good reward system. I've gotten a couple of t-shirts, books and decks of cards from them over the last year or two. And also played in some freerolls which could get you in to an ETP/WPT/WSOP/WCCOP event (if you are extrememly lucky! but good experience all the same for a limited BR)

I highly reccomend them. Best of luck.

PS Party Poker is the biggest, but software is a clustered up. I don't like it there anyway!

I signed up for this, got the whole $75 pretty easily. I still have about 150 in account, have not tried to take it out yet though, so not 100% if it's all legit, but don't see why it wouldn't be.

Cheers the replies lads, Party Poker sounds good, what's the story with that affliate scheme thing? Do you have to be invited on it or something?

Looking forward to gettin out playin in a few live games during the winter aswell, as i've moved up to Dublin and there seems to be plenty of live games around. Played in a few when I was up visiting before, can't remember the name of the crowd running them but they used to be mostly based around the northside in a different pub every night.

I think i'll steer clear of the Fitz as thats were all ye sharks seem to hang out and ye'd eat me alive!
