sb thinks he is the bb

    bb thinks he is utg

    utg thinks everything is ok

utg raises, it folds all the way round to sb who put in bb amount, he folds

the real bb folds having put in no money

utg asks where is the rest of the money?

sb says I should get back half because he should'nt have put full blind in.

real bb says I'm not giving him anything I'v no cards.

This is a real mess, whats the correct ruling please?

both SB and BB pay utg raiser 1 BB.

Its the sb's own dumb fault for putting more in than the sb.
BB has to put it in no matter what.

Surely the BB was 1st to act so he folded before the raise

BB pays utg 1 BB, his BB is a compulsory bet. He also gets a wedgie for playing out of turn, and for trying to avoid paying a BB.

SB gets half a BB back.

All players are told the importance of moving the dealer button onwards when a hand is finished.

SB gets half a BB back.

Lets just say the blinds are 100/200, UTG raises to 600 and its folded around to the button who calls 200 because he didnt see the raise. AFAIK he is unable to take his 200 back and only has the option to call the extra 400 (i think he cant raise either).

Is this not the same scenario as the SB is in? He put in extra chips by virtue of his own stupidity as in the above example

    Ranger,
I do think its a slightly different scenario if he's been told "you're on BB, put out your chips", as opposed to voluntarily putting in a call without having seen the raise, as in your example.

Exactly why he didnt realise he'd put out the BB for 2 hands running is another question though.

If the cards were dealt to the right people according to where the button should be then all relevant blinds have to be paid whether you have cards or not.

If the button was incorrect but only realised later then it is too late as action has taken place and only blinds according to the button must be paid.

I assume it is the first of the 2 though, but my head is a bit confused.

The blinds were getting pretty big at this stage, so this guy maintained if he was to pay bb he wanted an option to play his cards. he said nobody told him to put in the bb and he would'nt have thrown his cards in if he knew.

so who is responsible for making sure the blinds are correct, the blinds themselves? does the dealer have some responsibility here?
