I'm just after doing something very stupid. I had a PC set to 115V and I plugged it in. There were sparks, a fuse was blown, my heart nearly stopped.
What dammage could I have done to the PC?

I would say your power supply is fooked.

Power supply blown, but normally everything else will be okay.

Is this a rite of passage for all men?

Yes... your heart nearly does stop especially when I was trying to "fix" my 250 watt on and it blew up about 10cm from my head! :D

Your power supply is most definitely headed for the skip. It could have done other damage to your motherboard, have a look for burn marks near the other components, otherwise you won't know until you replace the power supply unit.
