Anyone know what are the best starwars novels/books that happen after the events of return of the Jedi, really want to get stuck into starwars fiction after the original 70's versions as they were by far the best.

The best way to do it is chronologically, i beleive truce at bakura is directly after ROTJ. After that id go to the xwing series as far as iron fist, then the courtship of princess leia.

that gives you about 10 books to get stuck into. plenty of reading time. once you are done with courtship get the Zahn "thrawn" trilogy (heir to the empire, Dark force rising and The last command)

Stay away from bakura, if you want to read on. It's a pretty bad book and will give a bad impression. Still to finish it myself.

Found this place handy, it's give all the book in cronological order.

X-wing books are good, they've nothing to do with luke leia etc but great books, introduces you to a few characters that will apear later on in a lot of the books.

The main ones to watch out for are the thrawn trilogy, the jedi academy trilogy, the x-wing books, the thrawn duology. Black fleet crisis i did'nt like. I did'nt go near the corellian trilogy.

the new jedi order are great books. set 20 years after ROTJ, and concentrates on the usual characters plus Han and leias kids who are teenage jedi;s.
