It is illegal to download movies...

    this is highly illegal.

go buy a DVD for penance.

(if you search digg.com, there was a whole bunch of really old movies that went out of license, and are now free)

You can buy or rent DVDs for a few euros these days, hardly going to break the bank.

well, it's not actualkly illegal to download movies.

    skybybroadband is free, and legal.

apart from that, i'm out of ideas for 'free' movies you can download :)

Why would it be blocked? I'm curious as to what providers out there are currently letting you download movies over the internet.

Didn't Warner Bros annouce that I-tunes would do this for them? I beleive its simply going to become a question of how much you can/buydownload before you starting hitting your cap, especially with Hd movies coming out now.

I think it's the "preferably free" comment in the opening post that will get it locked.

hi :), i asked for some information not a judgement and many assumptions.

im perfectly happy to pay full price to download a movie. if i can legally download movies for free that is preferable. thanks for the positive info so far.

Apart from the Sky By Broadband, as yet the only real service like this where you would get studio movies is iTunes deal on Disney movies (the fact that Steve Jobs has a massive share in Disney is probably entirely coincidental) which is only available to people who buy from the US store. Anything other than this is probably illegal.

    "Free"
    "Legal"
    "Reliable & Good movie choice"

    Pick Two ;)
No way round it. The only thing that ticks all boxes is TV - if you ignore the licence..

CinemaNow is AOL Time Warners effort, while MovieLink is backed by MGM, Sony, Paramount and Universal.

AFAIK they are only offering services to the US at the moment.

All the people parrotting the propaganda 'duuuurh, downloading is illegal' are really annoying at this point.
