    The whole site was down from about 14.00 to 14.30 for me anyways. Dog slow at the moment but lunchtime is peak time...

    And of course, as soon as I posted about it being dog slow, everything sped up again.

    There seem to be some problems with www.boards.ie from here but pie.boards.ie seems to be zipping it. May be just a localised problem from here....

    I'd love to claim that it was some piece of technical wizardry but I have no idea why it would suddenly appear quicker.

    Perhaps the fact that the site went down for a while and then a large number of users didnt come back after that (and hence less load on the machines) is the reason for the alleged new found fastness?
