    Hey Guys&Gals,

Has anyone pre-ordered yet with a confirmed price of the standard bundle? If so where..

Anyone get info of any new bundles?

I have my name down to be called once they start taking pre-orders in Game in liffey valley, but they couldnt give me a final price.

Also anyone going to trade in their game cube? Anyone know how much they get?

I will probably spend around 300~350 at launch and then start buying games online.

    Pablo

I've pre ordered at smiths, 25 euro. Wasn't told of any deals but was the same with the 360, I'm sure they will have some on release day. Their deals are really fair though as they give you the choice of any release game and don't force any third party rubbish peripherals on you... well at least that's how they did it with the 360. The deal I got was the console and any two games with 20 euro worth of vouchers, ended up saving a fair bit thanks to the deal.

As for a cube trade in, you won't get much probably about 20 or 30 euro and I'd rather throw mine in the bin than let game have it for that money.

Pre-ordered in smiths too (the one near Henry St.) last Wednesday. the guy said it would be €250 (though from what I've been reading around here it will probably end up more), and just to reiterate what was said above, he told me there would be release bundles for the first few days, though he said it was too early to know what they would be or would cost.

We started taking cash pre-orders in Game yesterday. 20 quid, though you're not guaranteed to get one. They'll be sold on a first come, first serve basis. Kinda defeats the point of a pre-order I thought

Yeah they were saying the same things about PS3 preorders.

If you preorder and they sell out before you turn up, your just out of luck.

Anyway I've never preordered a console, not starting now. I don't think the Wii will sell out (at least not everywhere). Nintendo aren't that popular in Ireland. Not even the DS will raise Nintendo's console market share here by that much. Sony just have too much of a hold on the market and the 360 is too close in price aswell combined with Nintendo's inability to advertise properly should mean plenty of consoles for all Irish users.

That's where I think you're wrong brim4brim. Nintendo are now loved by kids (again) because of the magnificent success the DS is currently enjoying. So I reckon alot of kids will be after the brand new Nintendo console this Christmas. I've already had several customers in asking about it.

yeah DS kicks the PSP's ass big time.....its a fantastic piece of kit. Guy in Smiths told me €250 today but that is before the recycling charge is added on. Should be good though, loads of people I know are talking about it. I think once people see and try it they will go for it. Its is very cheap compared to the other two. That said I am going to try and get an xbox360........and the Wii when it comes out.........

Are you sure it's not that it will be sold to those who preordered on a first come first served basis. Makes sense when you think about it, they want to be selling them as fast as they can. No use to them if some guy puts in the first preorder and then takes a couple of weeks to show in for his console. The way it worked in Smiths (sorry for talking about them all the time but it's my only example) was that you preordered it and then on launch day only those who had preordered it could buy one, but they weren't guaranteed one. The simple fact is these shops can't guarantee anyone a console cos they just don't know how many they will be getting in.

I put my money down in Game Liffey Valley today.I was only the third person to do so according to the girl who took the order. She did say that they would be holding them for people in the order that they paid the deposit .She gave me a numbered recipte with a serial number 1003 .If they are not then it is a complete waste of time preordering

I preordered mine on Gamestop Henry Street 'cos they were the only place I could find confirmed for a midnight opening; GAME haven't decided yet.

I asked the guy would a bundle be forced upon me and he said no.

They said once their list is full they would stop taking preorders, so you're guaranteed one if you prebook.

GAME said there will be plentiful stock for all come launch day, but I'm not taking any chances.

you trust gamesstop over game? iirc gamestop had lots of people with pre-orders left without 360s last year and game had none. there will be more than enough wii-ness to go around.

I've never pre-ordered a console (or even a game)before, so I'm assuming that if for example the console cost 250 and I've put down 25 for pre-order then ill only have to pay 225 on the day? Or is it that the 25 is just for the privelege of ensuring a console and then you pay full price on the day anyway?

i tend to get me consoles from hmv, only because the first time i pre-ordered, for an n64, i got a free game and a box of chocolates, cos it was just after valentines day. the dream

Well I imagine if I'm there by midnight on the 8th there won't be a problem getting one. First come, first served.

The deposit goes towards your purchase; there's no extra cost to preorder.

I preordered in Game Liffey Valley, the guy seemed confident that there would be enough Wiis to go around.

There was 20 pre orders in place.

The price was a little hevtier than expected at 275 or so.. Looks like I'll have to scrape together a little more for zelda, far cry and a few others..

He thinks the games will be about 60 quid..
