Mymail replacement?

I vaguely recall something being published last year about mymail being replaced with a new email service which is more accessible for all users.

Does anyone know if this is actually happening or not? Haven't heard anything about it since. Surely there would have to be some switch over time and they would have started that by now if it was going to be implemented this year?

given the last switch over period lasted over a year i wouldn't worry alot about it... it could start this year, it might not. I don't recall them saying they had any plans to replace horde though where was this published?

I remember this vaguely aswell, I think they said in september would be when it would be implemented(not very likely at this stage). and i think it was in the trinity newspaper

Yeah it was in TN alright, they said it would be up and running for this year but no evidence of that so far.

There was a planned replacement of HORD purely cus horde is the least accessible email program in the world ever :P

they had like a 2 year change over period to horde, anything to replace it will take ages too....

and there are some other options but i dunno horde isn't that bad.... roundcube will be nice when its done but its a bit unstable still.......

Yeah I remember reading about the change, I thought it was strange since I've never had any problems with mymail

Guess it won't be coming this year then. Afaik the problem was mainly for people using screen readers, the design isn't very friendly to them and I thought it was a good idea. Hopefully they'll get it sorted soon!

got bored one day, ran horde through a screen reader on my cousins laptop (she's blind) - it was....eh...painful.

i noticed some activity on the horde dev mailing lists in july wrt screen reader friendly css stuff, its possible i guess an update to horde might alieveate some of the problems, i dunno though...

Yeah, that was the general feeling on it, I was involved in the survey for ISS last year and some it definitely came up.
