The ECU has a full set of maps of all possible signal outputs from all the engine sensors built in. It looks at and compares all the signals together to determine what the engine is doing and how to control the fueling, ignition, boost, valve timing etc at that particular moment in time.

If it picks up signals from any sensor that seem too far outside what it expects from the standard maps it just marks the sensor as faulty and ignores any further output from it. The ECU replaces what the sensor is telling it with a default value (set by the manufacturer) out of the standard map for that particular sensor.

The only things your likely to get from this 'UNIVERSAL RESISTANCE POWER MOD!' is decreased fuel efficiency, increased emmisions, lower power and a list of fault codes indentifying the sensor as faulty stored in the ECU.

Think of the ECU as a computer that you are trying to load a program that is not compatible. You do that and the chances are 50/50
