Americans love booing sadly. As the commentators said, less than half the americans spectators have never even played the game, they're just supporting another sport and so dont really understand the game.

Is it really the Americans booing?

Hard to tell but i did hear booing, why would the europeans be booing? It wouldnt be the first time, its common at some of the US majors when a european is playing.

no booing whatsoever, it was all luuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuke chants both when he started and when everyone gathered at the 16th for clarke and donald went to wave to the crowd. there was no booing especially from the well behaved american supporters.

You got the booing wrong, way wrong - but anyways. What percentage of the European spectators attended RC and dont know the game of golf? Less than half as well? Stoopid comment from commentators.

At one stage it sounded like there was booing but in a shot in the highlights they showed the crowd and it was a group of american fans going whooooo whoooooo whoooooo. Sounded like booing at first which is why they showed it.

Best comment of the tourny was on sky sports, when I think it was McGinley chiped out of the rough one of the comentators said 'It seems that the roucher it is the more he likes it.'

The pub roared laughter at that one.

I was there today, and heard absolutely no booing, from either set of fans. You almost certainly mistook the popular cries of 'Luuuuuuke' for booing.

What? The amount of Irish people, as a percentage, is far higher than the number of americans who play. Its pretty hard to get a membership in the states on most courses and most people have to settle for a lot of driving range time, or play on crap public courses.
