Ok I'm a bit of a noob as far as PMPs go, I have a Creative MuVO Tx 512 and I find it quite good. The only thing is the number of tracks is quite small so I get bored after a while listening to them. I'm going to splas out on something a bit better, maybe with video capability, maybe even a radio but certainly with a lot more space. I suppose like a lot of people I'm being sucked in by the iPod phenomena but is that the way to go? What aboute Zen or something else? Max budget about €350.

Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

If you want to stick with creative I'd recommend the Vision:M I just got one a few days ago and to be honest I love, I got the 30gb one, absolutley fab and there's still loads of room on it despite having thrown my rather large cd collection at it.

You can pick one up on pixmania or komplett for around 300e and i think they're generally around 330e in shops.

    Thanks for the replies.

In the end I decided all I really needed was a bit more storage for a few more tunes. So I bought a Medion 4gb MP3 player for €79 while on a business trip abroad. Decent enough at that price, no bells, no whistles just about 64 hours of music. One good feature is that it can record and encode straight from a CD player with a standard 3.5mm output socket. Thanks again.

A piece of junk. It keeled over while loading MP3s. There was no warning of a max of 255 files in the root, I should have guessed it though. Anyway it fell over on its arse and demanded a firmware upgrade which I duly started. This failed partway through leaving me with a small but expensive paperweight. I've contacted the place I bought it from and they acknowledge that they have had many similar complaints so I'm getting a full refund with no further hassle. Bit of a disapointment really, I bought a Zen Micro 6gb in the end. I'm quite happy with that.

Can anyone recommend some good MP3 manager software that allows tag edits etc.? Thanks.

    * Left out the word "NO". Changes the sense a bit, oops.:o

Would that be Aldi by any chance?

No, not Aldi. I bought it on a business trip to France in a big supermarket chain called E. Leclerc. I have to post it back at my expense but I have been promised a full refund to my visa card.
