O'Sullivan's Cascade

The rains of recent days prompted me to visit one of my favourite places - O'Sullivan's Cascade in Tomies Wood, Killarney - as I knew the waterfall would be at its best. I hope you like the attached shot. (FWIW it was taken on a Canon EOS 20D and a Tamron 17-35 lens, 1 sec @ f/11. RAW file converted to jpeg).

For anyone interested, you get there by driving towards the Gap of Dunloe and take the left turn indicating Lough Leane (before you arrive at the Gap).

You will see a "walking man" sign pointing towards Tomies Wood. Park by the side of the road and take the track. Follow the track all the way for about a mile and you arrive at the waterfall. It's a beautiful place and you will almost certainly have the place to yourself. The tourist hordes don't come here.

    Regards,

    John

I went through most of your stream and I loved all the mountain and sea stuff. A great study of Cork and Kerry there. My fave waterfall pic was the one taken on Jan 20th at Torc.
    Nice stuff, well done.

Just looked at the attached one so far, it has that beautiful fairy glen look to it. Inspiring stuff.

How long was the exposure? The water is wonderfully blurred.
