MS Word - Tables and Bullets driving me mad

Can anyone figure this one out for me?

I want to do something simple like when I create a table, with 1 row and 1 column.. then write a heading in bold in the table.. no problem there.

Under the heading I want to put in some bullet points, which works fine.. but when I try to indent the bullets under the heading so that they move in (Using tab), Word automatically creates a second table underneath and starts with a new bullet point.

Grr.. All I want to do is to have the second bullet point tab in when I hit.. TAB!

In tables tab selects the next cell, that's why it's creating an extra cell.

As subway said, either press the "increase indent" button or right click on the bullet and click "Increase Indent"

    Use CTRL+TAB when you're in a table.

/EDIT: Actually CTRL+TAB will indent but it won't indent the bullets for some reason (this happens both in and outside tables). The easiest thing is to create the text outside a table and cut and paste it in.

You can format anything in a single cell!

In your case you create the heading. Position the heading where you want by clicking on the little square on the ruler bar and dragging it to the required position. You can also go to Format > Paragraph > Indents & Spacing and enter in the value. (A shortcut for this action is to double-click on the little square)

Then you enter a paragraph by pressing the enter key!

Type in the text you want to bullet. Go to Format > Bullets & Numbering and chose the bullet style.

Then position the bullet by clicking on the triangle on top of the little square on the ruler bar and dragging the bullet to the required position. Then click on the tab symbol on the ruler bar (the little "L") ad drag it to the desired position.

That is ideal for a single line with the bullet. If you want further lines below the bullet you will need to modify this method.

All values can be entered. To shortcut to Tabs double-click on the little square when it is separated from the triangle and to shortcut to Indents & Spacing double-click on the triangle.
