You can't get Channel 4 FTA.

Channel 4 is not available on an Irish subscription. Only a UK Sky sub, a ex-UK Sky sub or an FTV (Freesat from Sky) card will work.

The sale of ex-UK Sky Sub and FTV (Freesat from Sky) cards seems to have died on eBay, due to them being the property of Sky, and not for resale.

If you can get irish on aerial decent or happy with NTL giving you RTE etc, then FTA is great as you get 4 BBCs, 4 ITVs, couple of cartoon channels (itv, bbcs), CNN, Sky news, Few music channels etc all for free and whole set up shouldn't cost you more than 150 in most places if you do yourself. Look up www.lyngsat.com and find astra 2A, 2B, 2D and eurobird 1. Of course if you want more foreign stuff, you can point to a different satellite, the experts here will adivse you if your interested
