Peavey Valve King 112 - thoughts?

anyone ever played one of these? I'm thinking of taking the plunge and ordering one off GAK without trying it beforehand, everything I've read about it seems great. Seems to have a bit more gain than the classic 30 from what I've heard in soundclips.

Got some very good reviews alright, got a good one off Guitarist magazine if i remember. Probably sounds pretty decent
Personally i wouldnt trust it though. The classic 30 is a tried and trusted design, nice and simple (and reliable). I might dig up the guitarist review and see what they said about the valvekings construction. Id imagine its pretty cheap and flimsy inside, not what you want in a valve amp.

Yeah, i have the guitarist review here, no real problems to report. I still wouldnt buy one though, just a little suspicious of the reliabilty, but only a personal hunch (havent heard anything, but havent been looking either).

Theres a new 5 watt valveking too, through a 8 inch speaker. Not going to change the world, but with the epiphone and this, the trend for low wattage valve amps, cheap enough to buy just for the craic, is a good thing. Roll on the 5 watt mesa/engl:D !
