What could they possibly need a wiki for?

We write up tutorials about using the services and guides to programming languages and resources, so why not? It's better than the system we have now.

Really? Jesus, when I was running that it was the biggest society in the college with over 250 members and we went to loads of intervarsities. You can still apply to create the society bus77, just ask Tim O' Connor. You should be able to get a table sorted easily enough. Seriously, it's an easy soc to run and we had good contacts with Kylemore.

Oh I'm not saying there shouldn't be one, I was genuinely mystified about what would go in it. But that sounds cool :)

yeah there was one, someone asked the same question and got it going themselves think by the time they got it all sorted out most people had left but they did stay there for quite a while.

Are clubs allowed to throw up a desk during the year anytime?

I've a friend who did a paint ball on in ITT and they just pulled a desk and chair out the of a class for it.

Im sure any soc will be more then open to new members at anytime, sign up day is just for the majority.
