Well basically my chipset fan on my mobo went last night....i went to get another one today but alas my mobo is acting all strange

Basically the mobo does not detect any IDE drives.....but it does detect my SATA hard drive, so i am not sure if the chipset is to blame

Does anyone know if the mobo is generally fecked and needs to be sent back or is there a fix for this?

I bought this off komplett, and if i sent it back via komplett how long will the RMA process take?

Komplett have a forum on boards if you want to find out more. Its under Biz->Interaction->Komplett.
When the computer starts, does the hard drives show up in the BIOS menu (DEL key or whatever to enter the setup)?

My SATA drive does, however i also use an IDE drive and it does not

Either does my DVD Drive or CD-ROM:(

Thanks for the info.....thought it would be wise to post in here

I can actually start up windows as it is installed on the SATA drive, and it does not crash or anything. But also the IDE devices do not show up in Windows either

No Primary and Secondary IDE Controller (or similar) in Device Manager? If so then the IDE controller on the motherboard could be wrecked. If it is showing up then try using a different IDE cable.

Yeah as far as i can see all the controllers are there

Why would the cables be bad though?....how would that just happen

Not too sure tbh, faulty wiring inside or something perhaps. It would help narrow things down though. Double check the connections, make sure everything is where it should be and the jumpers are correct also.

I did that and still no luck...i think i am better off just sending it back
