    Not a bargain, but a wee rip-off.
Dunnes in Bishopstown are selling 1 pint (US) cans for €1.59. Same price as 500ml, so that's 27ml less, as US pints are smaller.

More interesting is how these cans got on the shelves? Last week (and this) the 5% stuff has been on sale there too. Oddly, there's no indication on the US cans of the alcohol %, though I just had one and they taste good :)

Isn't it really odd how you can buy drink in all sorts of strange sizes now. Just as well the law states shops have to display a per litre price, though the prices look god.

I noticed recently that sometimes Superquinn display a price per .75l, which is sneaky. Actually, it's worse than sneaky.

The law is quite clear on how the pricing is displayed. It has to be per litre for beers. The ODCA are very strict about it.

I have seen aldi or lidl displaying spirits in price per 700ml. I find this handy since 700ml is a standard bottle size, they were selling liquers in 500ml bottles, so it is easier to compare price to normal brands like malibu or archers.

What drink was "per 750ml", 750ml is a standard wine bottle size so it was mini wine bottles or large bags I would find it handy (even if it is illegal)

You will find that litre and 1.125ml bottles of vodka are usually more expensive than the 700ml versions.

Yeah, Dunnes were at it in Maynooth too - 20 bottles of Budweiser for 20 Euro (at least I think it was 20 Euro). Sounded too good to be true and it was - the bottles were 300ml, the normal size is 330ml.
