SE Last Night - Ruling cash game

cant remember the exact logistics of the hand but it goes something like this.

eijit 1 makes it 7 blind utg called around until player 1 in mp makes it 21, this is called by player 2, eijit 1 calls and player 3 calls. 4 players.

flp comes K Q 10. eijit 1 chqs, players 3 chqs, player 1 makes it c.47/48 yoyo, player 2 folds, eijit 1 goes all in c.150, player 3 folds.

at this stage eijit 1 believes that player 1 is all in (says it was due to the unusual bet of 47/48) and says "strait"... as it transpires player 1 has 100yoyo behind. dealer calls for ruling. Dealer relays issue to floor manager and says that eijit 1 said he had a strait - it should be noted that eijit 1 intervenes to say that he only said the word "strait" and this could be interputed as saying "i av a strait!" or "do u av a strait?" - I think in the context of the hand this was a fair point for eijit to make as oft times somebody makes a moves with say top pair and then asks opposition if they av filled a strait once betting has finished and before cards are turned face up.

    questions...

    1. Should dealer call for ruling? why? it accounts to not much more than speech play which seems to be generally tolerated at levels like this?

    2. What should ruling be? I side with floor manager but after the game a player did comment that he felt ruling was incorrect - but wouldnt suggest what he would av ruled or offer alternative ruling.

any other thoughts besides the fact that ur man is an eijit who potentially cost himself 100 yoyo.

BTW floor manager said bet stands, no cards were exposed etc etc..... in any event player 1 folds and eijit shows J 9. Eijit gets moved to table 2 and apologises for what did appear to be a genuine mistake.

don't think a ruling should have been called for. Seems to have been a genuine mistake (they do happen, done it myself at times). Sense prevailed anyhow. They guy who had bet 47 or so should have the option to call or fold having heard that, and probably be glad to get away with it.

I must try that with 56s on a QKA board this evening. Then say oh fúck I thought you were all-in.

your opponent would probably say 'no problem, I call, split pot. Oh, I though tyou had a straight?'

If you try that in a hand against me you are going to regret it....;)

Ah you know I keep the speechplay to a minimum Lloyd.

I will only do something like that when I have the nuts.

I thought a fairer decicion would be that ejit1 could only call the 47/48. Really by announcing his hand his cards could have been ruled dead ( would be a bit harsh though) Anyway I believe he cost himself 100 euro. And he did have the str8.

What if he didn't have it?? hmmmmmmmm

If it was me i think i would show my cards and still give the other player the option to call/fold. If he had better I'd deserve to loose.

    Just my opinion

This happened me about two weeks ago. A guy raised and I reraised, because of where he was sitting at the table he didn't have a clear view of my chips and guessed by the way I threw in my chips I was all-in and he turned over his cards.

We just checked the hand down.

The funny thing is, that normally he never turns over his cards when he's all in.
