Wireless Connection connect but no Internet

    Hello.
    I have a linksys router.
    I has always worked fine.
    Yesterday, I went to a friends, I connected to his router. To do this I needed to change my Wireless Manager from DELL TO WINDOWS..
    COOL

    But when I went home and swapped back to dell wireless manager I had problems....
    I AM CONNECTED, I can see the connection, signal strengthis excellednt ETC>

    BUT

    I can't access the Web..


    Please help...uber confused

    Had the exact same problem on an Eircom wireless network a few days ago. Full signal, indicated that I was connected, traffic seemed to be going to somewhere. No web pages would load...

    It just sorted itself out after an hour or two, hasn't happened since, I hadn't changed anything. I just put it down to a network problem, etc...

    (That probably doesn't help you in any way!)

    Sounds like windows zero configuration service is faffing with your connection.

    Turn it off with

    Control Panel > Adminstrative Tools > Services

    That's on Win 2k, may be different on Win XP

    Two words:
    Reboot.


    Router.



    Also, did you change anything else? Like switch from static to dhcp IP address (or vice versa?).
