Recommend a "snapper" type camera?

I recently sold my compact "snapper" camera (it was a bit bulkier than I would have liked) and I'm looking to replace it. I'd like something around 6 MP with a good lens and ideally quite small and slim. I like Panasonic's Lumix range. However, the latest ones, like the LX2, don't seem to allow the lens to fold into the body, which I'd prefer.

Some of the Pentax models seem nice and small, but I've no idea how good they are. Likewise the Exilim range from Casio. So basically, any help appreciated!

Go for the Canon Ixus 60. (65 if you want 3" screen)

I always recommend this camera for your
range and havn't got any complaints yet :).

Budget of about 300. I'm a bit of a fan of Panasonic's Lumix cameras, so I was looking at the LZ5. However, I also like the Casio Exilim S600 as it's very small and the lens folds into the body completely flush (which is the main stumbling block with the LZ5, although 6X optical zoom and a Leica lens are good compensation).

I've got a Canon Ixus APS model, which was troublesome, so I'm not hugely keen to go the Canon route again.

What problems were there with the Canon Ixus? Iwas looking at the Ixus 65.

Also looking at sony cybershot 200 or similar but have heard a lot of bad things about their cameras breaking down.

For me personally lag time is a big issue and sony seem to come up best in this area, are they reliable?

The problem I had was with an APS Ixus, the film wouldn't load properly, which was apparently a known issue with the model. Of course by the time I figured this out and was told I'd have to send it back to Canon to be fixed, it was out of warranty. And it occasionally gives the same error again despite being fixed once already. Hence my reluctance to go back to Canon.

I plumped for a Lumix LZ5 which hasn't arrived yet from Pixmania, but now I'm thinking should have gone for a Lumix FX01! :( What's Pixmania's return policy, anyone know?
