I have just moved in to college apartments with a wireless network, they are private apartments and have there own wireless broadband. This is an unsecured network and I have full signal, so I can connect to the network, but once this connects I can't load any websites, I'm using a dell inspiron 1300 with windows xp, ie, and built in network card?

Anyone have any help / solutions?
    Cheers

Why are you asking here? Nobody here knows the setup where-ever you are, and you've said that you don't have a wireless problem.

Ask locally what you need to do to configure your browser to access the web.

The college network probably requires a HTTP proxy for internet access. Contact the IT department.

Run IPCONFIG from the command prompt to see if you're getting an IP address.
If you don't have an IP address, then they are probably restricting access, by either mac address filtering, or limiting the number of available IP addresses.

Why don't you call into one of your neighbours or the IT team, and find out how to access the network (of course, if you are legitimately entitled to access the network).

Your one of the lucky ppl, it would appear there is BB availability in your area, many cannot get it. Ring Eircom or BT or whoever and order your own.
