Opera II Editing

Hey folks, im inputting all our stock items into our new opera II package at the moment, but have found in the Supplier Refference part it will only take 16 characters. We need at least 24 or so, and if we cant fit it all in we wont be able to directly order these products and everything will basically take a lot longer! I rang our distributor in cork but they claim the input box can't be lengthened, but they have shown in the past to not be totally knowledgable about other problems so said id check on here in case anyone knew how it could be done or even where to go to seek advice.

You would have to modify the software probably in two places - the front-end (increasing the text box from 16 to 24 characters) and the most likely the back-end (increasing the database field size accordingly).

That is depending on how the app stores the data. It doesn't sound like a big deal, but there could be more to it.

You could try mailing the manufacturer. It pegasus. I notice there are different versions of it you can buy. That field limit might be different in one of the other versions.

It might be a limit on the data entry field or in the database itself. Without contacting Pegasus you cant tell.
