USB killed my ipod

    Hi all,

Yesterday I got a new computer case because the old one had various things missing or not working as happens with extended use.
I plugged my iPod into one of my computer's front usb ports and as soon as I did that, the iPod basically conked out and hasnt woken up since. I've tried resetting it, which didn't work and running it in diagnostic mode which also didn't work, so it is for all purposes dead. I noticed however that when I plug the iPod in to charge, I can hear this very faint high pitched clicking noise (not the hard drive spinning, this is a different sound). My suspicion is that I incorrectly wired the usb port connector on the motherboard, and short circuited the iPod's mainboard. Could any electronics heads shed any light on this for my please, if they had a similar experience, or if this is even possible. I'll probably bring it back to Argos.

    Thanks :(
