    whats wrong with it?

It's a Ford so it will be roomy and easy to work on......i hope....

tip one: get some mates with similar cars (owners club would be good)
    tip two: workshop manual
tip three: good quality tools(esp axle stands and other safety gear....

Whats wrong with it? can we guess?!! :D

there are a number of mustang owners here and they are easy enough to work on. Where did you get it, where are you in Irlenad, and how long have you had it?

Thats not a big problem, its not difficult to replace the ignition barrel, have you tried using WD40 or a loosening oil?

Why is the key rusted into the ignition??

Just to get a better idea:
When was the last time this car was running?
how much rust is in the engine bay, do you have pictures?
is the body in ok condition?
It sounds like a project car, why did you get it?

Rusty under the bonnet is not a big problem.Do you know why it won't run, I mean by that has it just been lying up or did it blow. You can buy everything for a 351 clevland, from the smallest nut to a complete engine rebuild, you just have to search a bit more for the parts because they are not as well supplied as say a 289 or 302. You don't give much info, as was said, their are plenty here that could help.

Please make sure you do NOT start the engine before you are certain this will not damage anything.

Replace engine oil and coolant, ensure that the pistons can move freely (inject WD40 in the cylinders and spin the engine by hand first, with the plugs removed), then crank it with the starter motor and no plugs, then make sure yolu have new petrol with no dirt arriving properly to your carbs (dismantle and clean the carbs first), put new plugs etc. be extra careful, spend a bit of time and money first, this will not be wasted and could save you an unnecessary engine rebuild...

Is the key rusted in the ignition or just stuck? May be it was the wrong key that was forced in...
