Hi. bought a laptop on ebay and the item was sent monday by parcelforce, apparently international standard with insurance.

has a bar code number CPxxx xxx xxx GB.

i was wondering: who would deliver that here in ireland, when is an approximate time it can be delivered and does this require signature on delivery?

    Thanks for helping me out...

asked for registered post when i paid and bid for it and was told no problem. i hate it when sellers do that, take ur money and send it to u via the cheapest crappiest method possible.

good thing an post is very good, never had any trouble with them delivering packets. (had trouble before, but turned out it was always uk's heathrow airport losing all the mails).

It could be one of the courier companies for a laptop as regular An Post might not handle something like that. Do you have a tracking number?

I would say its the regular postie so but you will probably have to sign for it.

thanks! one last question: when the sds was in existence, u had to go collect parcels in areas nobody had heard of before. are those depots still doing that for parcels or do everything end up in ur local delivery office nowadays?

SDS depots were closed down and don't handle anything anymore, so my guess would be that the parcels go to your local post office.

It's usually GLS. You can track your package up to when it's handed to GLS on the Royal Mail website - it's just not that easy to find where to put the number, iirc

BTW, undelivered mail, parcels etc, is usually kept at your local sorting office rather than post office, unless you are very rural.

yeah, just contacted the post office. standard economy packets are delivered by anpost. due to the bad weather, since this is sent by surface mail (damn the cheap seller), it can take up to two weeks to get to ireland and needs to be signed for.

    pffft.

eurm. seller said it was gonna be sent by ireland 24 parcelforce. (which was only 1 pound more than what was sent, international delivery).

anyway, im not fighting abt it, im just sad, thats it. an post said they would probably be the ones delivering it anyway since its standard economy

pacelforce ireland 24 isnt avialble from england anymore, and hasnt for some while.

in your orignal post you said you asked for registered post,
which is how he sent it, not standard economy.

the link above is to your tracking page.

ok ok, i dont see why we're arguing here. in the end hopefully itll come.2 weeks.

the link there is for royalmail. parcelforce tracking is at www.parcelforce.co.uk. and like i said, this one isnt tracked.

btw, why do they still have ireland 24 prices on there if it isnt available?

sorry if i seemed like i was arguing, wasnt trying to :)

ireland 24 is avaialble from northern ireland only these days.

the traking number he gave you is for royal mail tracking,
thats why i gave you the link.

the same thing happened to me on ebay a while back.
