    Anyone know where i can get a cheap/2nd hand ATA for using VOIP in a small office. We want to try out a VOIP provider but dont wanna pay 400euro for capital outlay if its not gonna work well. Can we rent one for a week or two anywhere?

    How about using a softphone like xlite and a headset as a test run?

    no out network guys wont let us use a software based solution, it has to be hardware via a dsl connection. we are not allowed install any software on our computers here in office.

    Plus it defeats purpose as quality can be different on softphone to a hardware based voip system

    Who quoted you €400 for an ATA?

    Try www.digidave.ie they have ATA's starting at €49.99 + €5 p&p.

    I got my Zoom X5v ATA/modem/router from them cost €105 inc. delivery received package in 2 working days, V. happy with it. Only drawback is the ATA can only be configured for one voip provider, some allow upto 10.
