Assuming your male, you wont (usually) stop growing until your in or around 21-22 (open to correction on this) so theres still hope yet man !

like said above, you're still growing - about 5' 8" - 5' 10" would be the average for most males(assuming you are male) anyway, so you needn't worry :)

I'm 5'9" and I don't care. It's just your freakish generation are all growing like weeds due to diet or laziness. Just tell people that you didn't grow as much because of hard work, like my father told me when I passed him out:D

Well like others have said you may still grow between now and 22. Many people can have huge growth spurts in that time. But it depends really. Have you grown much in the last couple of years? Everyone develops differently so some people grow tall first, grow facial hair last, etc, or vice versa.

Usually you will be the same height as your parents, so if they aren't tall then your not likely to be either. In any case, don't worry about it. Most movie stars are of similar average height.

Just don't (if your male) make the mistake of wearing lifts or big boots to try and compensate. Nothing worse than someone who is noticibly insecure about their height. One of my bosses at work wears giant moon boots to make himself taller, he looks like a dork.

I'd wait til about 20 - 22 as most men don't finish growing until then. But tbh I'd stay clear of tablets etc, you should except the hand you've been dealt and get on with things, besides, 5 8 isn't tiny... and there are advantages to being small.

I didnt stop grownin till this year. 23 now. Dont be worried about your height, its not something that u can change practically and should want to change. You are who are meant to be.

I agree with Nialo, 5-8 isnt small, A healthy diet and active life is your bestway of increasing you chances of growing more. After all, you ask a woman what she looks for in a man and hieght is well down the list, Attitude and confidence are normally in the top, and since women average out at around 5'6 or 5'7 you are doing fine.

If the OP is a woman, their average is 5' 5 and mens is about 5' 10. Either way s/he is a grand height.

yeah, do lots of runnin and swimmin, this will stretch your legs a bit, and give you long muscles as opposed to small ones from liftin weights

    seriously though

    when i go t clubs i feel so tall [i'm 5' 10]

cos all the guys who are like 25 are tiny!

    Ehhhh.....right.

Anyway, I meant it in the context you'll feel better about your height. Nobody is going to care about you're height if you're built like a shít brickhouse.

i haven't grown that much in the last 2 years. i cant imagine that i will grow in the next few years because ive barely grown since i was 16.

both parents are around 5 foot 8, but my 17 y/o brother is around 5 foot 10/11. not sure if this means anything for me.

 i do have the same problem. only, i'm bothered whether the effect is due to genes or to habit..developed the passion for drinking when i was through primary grades.   don't...look at me like that!:D

    Thanks.
Sadly unless you are 5'8" agents wont look at you. Kate Moss got in at 5'6" and that was a first in the industry

I thought that was only for catwalk modeling, you can't tell how tall someone is in a photo.

this thread is a little old so maybe some good new products came on the market to help you grow that bit taller, anybody recommend anything?
Or should us dwarfs just stick to our stretches and milk

I read somewhere that if you do yoga for 3 years you grow an inch.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 902 ✭✭✭lainey316

Pilates, more than yoga but I'm sure yoga helps too, will improve your posture so that you appear taller, rather than actually grow.

Im only 5ft2 so I'm screwed altogether :( not sure I'd want to take pills to get taller, with side effects and all that.

Nope nothing but surgery will make you taller permanently, that involves breaking your legs and inserting nails ouch! very long process and recovery...it's also not legal in most countries.

    I personally don't think 5ft 8" is bad height for a guy.
