Problems with laptop: constant fan-lines down screen

    basically the fan is going constantly when its on and there are lines down the screen.

    any ideas?

    Sounds like something is overheating. Is it under warranty?

    yeah its dell so it must be.

    Its constant humming, really annoying. I actually cant send it away as I need it for the next few weeks

    I guess all you can do then is keep it as cool as possible, if you are at home, keep it raised up a little bit off your desk so air can flow better. That is the only thing I can think of before sending it off to be looked at.

    turn off the computer, or sell it
