Online registration is still being worked out, but should be up by tomorrow.

Still a few kinks to be worked out, and stuff to be added. If anybody sees any problems, let me know. (I already know that it looks slightly off in IE, it'll hopefully be fixed soon).

I think I asked this question last year, got an answer I didn't like so I'll ask it again this year and hope the answer changes.

If you put yourself down for a weight category and miss it are you disqualified or moved up?

How many took part last year?

Is there a charge/tickets to have a goosha?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,577 ✭✭✭Colm_OReilly

any younglings division John? It would require us digging up our gi's again but hey, younglings, zhoo zhitsu, what's better?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 1,799 ✭✭✭Clive

"Weet zee kimono - eez beuutifool!"

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 1,639 ✭✭✭john kavanagh

Cost - 25euro competitor and 5euro for spectators

but jump in and have a go maeve, just like a training session :) its hard to get girls to go in so lead the way!

no specific kids division but there is a -57.5kg division - surely no grown up can be in that division!

What girl would fall for that line...just like a training session...yeah right :D

Competition.... competed for years but gave it up a long time ago

.....but will try hard to get out for a goo this time!

A friend of mine might be entering assuming she's fit and healthy and interested.

Hmmh! I went from 72kg to just under 60kg after my 2nd op.
If only I'd known about that weight class I wouldnt have gorged myself on late night feeds, chocolate and beer (purely medicinal:rolleyes: ).
Surely would have chance of medal against kids:o

..........waits for posts about superbrats who have been training from birth (Well I said a medal! I didnt say win outright:D )

Now I have to wait even longer before I can eat!!

John, I know it's probably too early to be asking this, but any rough idea of the times each division should be starting? Only asking as I need to be back at the airport by 6pm to fly back to London.

    Cheers,
    James

If you don't make weight for the category you entered, then can you enter the one above it on the day?

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,923 ✭✭✭Nothingcompares

    Scramble - no.

remember you need to bring a signed copy of this waiver with you on the day

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 3,577 ✭✭✭Colm_OReilly

Harking back to my Commerce days, you're participation in this event or any event is deemed acceptance of the terms of competition (the waiver). It's like starting your job before you've signed the contract.

Anyway best of luck to all those entering. I might make the weigh in just so I can eat chocolate in front of the athletes. Either that or I'll show up later still drunk. Maybe I should start a poll....

Thanks John. I can see there are no other female competitors currently registered on the site. That doesn't really answer my question though.

if there are no other competitors in the female -60kg division then obviously she'll have to go in to the nearest mens division.

cool tj davitt got his blue belt

he hasn't yet but as he has a lot of experience in Judo we put him in the blue belt division to make it fair.

  • Closed Accounts Posts: 2,923 ✭✭✭Nothingcompares

That's interesting. I've equal experience in judo that TJ has but he's much much better at BJJ. Can I go in the blue belt too then?
