I know some of you must get sick of people asking, but I'm looking for laptop advice. Heading off to uni and need something to work on. Word processing, publishing etc. Twill be used for a lot of stuff. I'll be wanting all my software off the web and i'll probably waste a lot of time running games. wireless internet is needed and bluetooth is always useless. advice too please on linux. it can't really be as hard as they say can it? i'm fed up with windows a bit, though i realise i'll need to run windows programmes. perhaps vista would be preferable. macs aren't a no go area but the gaming opportunities are a bit limited. able to be reasonably flexible with pricing but i'd prefer to keep it the right side of €1500/1600. i've had a bit of bad experience with dells but any advice here would be great. i know i've left out some vital info but advice would be good. looking for semething pretty high spec though. something that'll last me. 2 meg ram? over 2ghz processor probably too. a fair bit over if possible.

I would check the Dell.ie website and do up a spec for a machine around the €1500 with a 3 year Next Business Day warranty and see what kind of hardware you get for that price, you could always try....an apple macbook....if you wanted to as they're in and around that price range too.Alternatively take a trip to laptopsdirect.ie or PC World and see what they have to offer you in your price range
