hey, i'm looking to buy an mp3 player but havent a clue which one to get. I have an idea of what I want but dont know anything about them. I like the look of the ipods because they're small and light. I'm looking for a 4-6gb in the price region of about €150. i also dont have a clue about downloading so something thats easy to get music onto the player would be great. i know the ipod has a disc to convert your cd's so that would be a help. majority rules on this so opinions appreciated! thanks

I'm not too familiar with todays range of mp3 players to suit your needs but if you want to get the best quality CD rips (rip is the term used to make music CD tracks to MP3) click here and follow the guide.

You can get the creative microphoto 4gb for less than €150 in pcworld or dixons. You dont even need any new software to use it as you can use windows mediaplayer. I dont think you would get an ipod with 4Gb memory for less than €150. Some Ipods have battery issues also

i have an old ipod and its ok, - there pricey - you pay for the name - but the media player on my mobile phone (Sony k750) which i got free is great , though i think you can only upgrade to 1 GB of mem - but the playback quality i find better than ipod !

I saw an iRiver H10 in Harvey Normans in Cork on Sunday for €147. It's 6Gb I think and a fairly decent player: does music and photos
